Ask me anything

See above <3

So we’ve kind of been lazy lately and maybe sort of abandoned this blog or something or other but I swear we’re still alive and there will be mucho buttkicking to get back into gear if people are still wanting to be asking Karl the questions!

tl;dr Restarting this blog again and filling it with all the Karl appreciation and love and questions (and shit) if people are still interested!

Wynne? She has some odd conception that I am for all intensive purposes her younger brother, and she my older sister. She teases me constantly, berates me about my romantic decisions, especially my more unconventional partners. Suffice to say she DOES NOT approve of Anders. I may have told her that we are no longer together to escape her berating. I wouldn’t be playing the ‘younger brother’ role very well if  I did lie a bit after all.

Being completely candid? Wynne can be a bit….judgemental. She has her opinion of how something is going to turn out and there is no changing it. But she really is just trying to help, she has a good heart. She also has a bit of a reputation as being…oh never mind. Forget I said anything, she would probably set my hair on fire for saying that…

Anders fumbled for the book just outside his reach, willing his body to stretch further than it wanted too in an attempt to grasp the item. He bit his lip in concentration, one hand grasping the bookshelf firmly as he gingerly jabbed a foot inbetween two tomes on the shelf above the one he was…

((Now we may rp Kanders <3 yay Kanders!))

((Just a quick note: My wifu and I have changed our posting format slightly. We’ll be answering questions in new posts rather than via the ask itself, because of the method we’re using to write them. To make sure we’re being somewhat consistent and coherent, we’re proof-reading each others responses and it’s easier to do it this way :)

We’re also going to start up an Apprentice Anders blog for Kanders rping and questions for Circle/Possibly Awakening Anders to answer.

A dragon? Do you know someone who can turn into a dragon? That is truely something I would love to see.

Unfortunately, I do not know of anyone…who has that skill or could teach it. But now that I think of it, there is a deeply encrypted book that has diagrams that involve dragons and transformation in the Library. Feel free to try and decipher it, Finn has been at it for years.

Even if I did know of dragon transformations it would surely be forbidden in the Circle. After all if you could simply crash through the walls and fly away I doubt they could keep us in with a few Templars. Scrawny little mages throwing fireballs is one thing, but a giant fire breathing man-eating monster is another thing entirely. In fact, I’m really starting to warm up to this idea of turning into a dragon. If you ever find someone who is willing to teach this skill be sure to send them my way.

“Hmm…” Karl scratches at his chin thoughtfully, his beard rustling as he does so. “I have heard of the Dalish hypothesis in texts. But I haven’t given it much thought…”

He pauses in silence, considering the question for several minutes before his eyes light up in recognition. “I guess the term ‘demon’ is just a phrase we use to describe a so called ‘evil’ spirit, in some sense. I guess in their basic form all spirits are just spirits… and we classify them as good or evil depending on what they embody.”

“But that is a human stereotyping into what we perceive as virtues or faults.” Karl shrugs and smiles thinly. “If they truly are just embodiments of human emotions then I do not think we can classify them as good or evil, they just simply… are. I will have to consider it more, though.”

Karl chuckles softly and shakes his head. “I hate to disappoint you, but I’m not sure where I’m from. I was brought to the Circle when I was very young.”

He pauses then and shrugs, tapping the feathered end of his quill against his cheek in thought. “But I hear that ‘Karl’ is a rather… Anderfellian name. Who knows? Maybe I am from there. At least my name is more original than Anders’.”

Karl smirks slightly at his last statement, before blinking and scratching the back of his head awkwardly as a blush creeps up his cheeks. “Uh… don’t tell him I said that.”

((I’m such an idiot I accidently deleted this the first time I’m sorry UH /insert self flagellation))

Karl’s features take on a wistful look as he processes the question, and they dull to a mixture of longing and sadness a couple of seconds later.

“Anders chased me constantly,” he replies eventually. “It actually got a bit frustrating at times… and inappropriate. I think he was infatuated with me and was in that stage of wanting to… explore his sexuality.”

He lets out a soft, quiet laugh at a particularly amusing memory that arises in his head, but he dismisses it seconds later. “Eventually I couldn’t keep pushing him away any longer. Although, if you ask him, he’d probably tell you he was finally successful in seducing me.”

Arrogant little bastard that he is, Karl adds to himself below his breath.

“I don’t think either of us were intending on falling in love, though. Especially him.” He pauses, his brow creasing as his gaze becomes distant. “I couldn’t hold him back though for myself. Staying in the Tower killed him, and I couldn’t be selfish and in keeping him there.”

He sighs then and shrugs, a hand raising to pinch the bridge of his nose. “I hope he is… safe.”

((Uh, kind of assumed for this that Karl is currently still in the Ferelden tower/possibly Kirkwall Gallows and Anders has buggered off once more on his escape attempts. ~ Bre))

Well…generally lightening spells aren’t meant to singe off the eyebrows of anyone in the vicinity. I’d keep practicing, alone. You’ll get there, you just need to keep practicing, ALONE.

I was in The Gallows in Kirkwall during the Uldred incident. I had been transferred not much earlier. Of course we heard of it, and the Knight-Commander used it to further fuel her crusade to villainize all mages as dealing in blood magic. At least five harrowed mages were turned Tranquil soon after, ‘a precaution’ as to not let the same thing happen to The Gallows. It went completely ignored, as always.

I went to the funeral in Ferelden. I have…never seen so much death. Uldred was a sick, sick man. Sometimes I wonder if it had been different if I had been there to help him. He had an odd…respect for me.
